Year 11 GCSE PE students have been given the opportunity to learn some new skills, and last week they were able to try their hand at archery. They were taught the basic stance and grip, and started coaching each other these skills. With James Montgomery the Olympic hopeful for 2016 coaching by their side, they were excited and enjoying their newfound talents. Once they had learnt bow control, the students were able to pre-draw their arrow and then anchor under their chin with precision. They then moved on to body alignment which leads into the actual target practice. Once the techniques were grasped the Year 11s very much enjoyed an archery contest.
